When My Heart
Is A Wounded Birdie

When my heart is a wounded birdie
Can't name its pain
A poem is born.

It's like...like going through the birthpains, the spasms, breathlessness, the nerves ready to burst forth...

It's like...like the whirlpool arrested, frozen...
Behind the white shroud of ice
Ready, oh ready, to break the walls and flow gurgling, tempestuous, spontaneous, vigorous!

It's like...like the clouds dense and dark
Pregnant with celestial waters...
Ready to downpour and quench the earth's thirst...

It's like...like dipping your pen
In your own blood,
Or...bleed profuse!

I'm awestruck oh creator!
How, oh how, could you create this entire world!
What spasms, what breathlessness, what great unease, you might have undergone!
My pores are filled with wonder, HOW!
HOW do you manage the controlling threads of so many puppets dancing at a time!

A Languid Noon

A summer noon it is,
sitting by the window,
that looks onto the terrace.

A small birdie 🐦,
pecking from the sand grains,
the squirrel with the bushy tail
some heights trying to scale.

The trees standing tall,
their shadows tilted,
reclining on the shadowy bosom of grounds.

Koel filling the bill of vacuum around.

Men trimming branches to shape,
the black cat yawns,
the grasshopper flits about,
the cow moos at some distance.

Perspiration,
restlessness,
the loud silences.
The very wind in the grip of languid noon!

Not a leaf cares to flutter. 🍃

Some wooly, puffed up clouds,
wandering around,
pregnant with hope.

The never ending wait,
with lids unfurled,
waiting for catharsis,
the earth,
 the clouds,
the birds and...
... me.

Snippets!

Puffs and puffs of clouds
pregnant with hope
celestial,
pure,
maiden.

Raindrops,
wetting my being,
through and through!

This,
not the first time,
I'm humbled,
beholding,
the craftsmanship of His!

Bewitched,
I stare,
dumb,
exhilarated,
inhaling sheer ecstasy!
