Kalyna Temertey-Canta

The Bitch

In birth or destruction
in beauty and in blood
the bitch to earth surrenders
not preoccupied with the stars

earthy scents her potent elixir
in her every act life surges

she cannot contain
      she tries not to contain

bares her soft skin to her master

bliss rains upon her
       precipitates a shudder.

Exponential Whispers

Sound

Far away a tractor’s drone

The hound sighs
The hound sighs

The wind itself strokes the air

Branches graze
Metal roof

Leaves are rushing over there

Flaking rust
It’s raining
Pins

Spiraling baritone fly does bite

Paper sheets
Insect limbs

Small soprano circles ear

Chafing grasses
Platinum fields

Earth’s core resonates

Exponential
Whispers

Sound

Ginestra

Spanish broom
immobile and authentic,

is nature’s gentle guard,
masks an entire forest
with her scented blooms—

proclaims
I am you,
you are me,
we are not.

Around us verdant hills
dotted with dragon eyes,
houses with ancient wisdom
seem to signal,
turn towards the fire.

A last ember in a stained sky
calls for a us to salute.
Pivot.

Car tracks through a gilded field,
lead to a first star that welcomes.
All life reverberates.
